What is up with me.

I have been away from the blog for too long and for that I am sorry. I just haven't really had the ambition to post anything at all. It isn't that I don't have things to share or discuss just like I said, lack of motivation.

First up is my dad. He is going in for minor surgery tomorrow morning. He has a small surgical hernia (from the last operation) that needs to be repaired. It is basically a split along the inside of his scar. It is pushing out his intestines, causing this bump/bubble thing on his gallbladder operation scar. He needs to have it taken care of before it gets any bigger. He goes into the hospital tomorrow morning and he should be home tomorrow night. That is the plan at least.

My new job is not the best thing going. It is very boring at times and I hate being bored. I am stuck in my windowless room for most of the day. I do get out sometimes, I have been delivering the files the lawyers and paralegals have been requesting. Before I would just place them in the outgoing mail bin around the corner. I wasn't meeting anyone that way. One of the things I liked about my old job was that I was out and about most of the day and new everyone in the company. Hear it isn't that way at all. I know it is still knew and I'll need to give it more time. Hey it pays the bills and has good benefits and heath insurance, stuff like that is always a good thing.

Thanksgiving was good, went to my aunt's house as per our tradition. I made a pie, pumpkin maple, (and yes I cheated on the crust) it was delicious. I also made an apple pecan cobbler which was also good and required no crust homemade or otherwise. I like going somewhere else for Thanksgiving, all the good food and none of the mess!!!

I finally got my car inspected. I went to the dealership on the 19th to get it inspected I sat in the nice lounge area for all of 10 minutes when I was informed that my registration hadn't gone through. More aggravation! So the dealership gave me a knew bill of sale with that date on it to act as my temp registration in case I was pulled over during the week. After a few calls to the insurance company I got it all switched over and went back to the dealership to get my sticker this past Sat morning. This time it went with out any problems and they did comp my the sticker (fuckers better have).

That is all for now
Peace out.

Tooting ones own horn.

So on Thursday I went over to the Mazda Gallery over in Norwood to pick up my new car. I finished up all the paper work, signing my life away and all that jazz. They give me the keys and I am on my way! As I get off the highway coming onto Burgin Parkway, the bend just before you come to the light right by Home Depot and Quincy Adams T station, some asshole starts to drift into my lane almost clipping my brand new car*. I lean on the horn and all I hear is ... silence (and my own cursing).

New car and the stupid horn doesn't work. As soon as I get home I call the dealership and leave a message for the salesman. He calls me back 15 minutes later telling me to bring it in Friday night or Saturday morning. I schedule something for 8:30 on Saturday. He calls me on Friday and lets me know that they probably won't get to it on Sat so they will give me a loaner car (part of my warranty agreement). I say OK, nothing I can really do about it anyway.

Later on Friday I send him an e-mail about how I was a little disappointed in Mazda Gallery that they didn't do a better job checking out the car before they handed it over to me. I asked him to comp me the price of my inspection sticker. If I had gone and tried to and get it inspected it would have failed because of no horn. He wrote back that he was sorry about the horn and would ask his boss about the sticker.

I bring it in this morning and they actually took a look right away and ended up swapping out a horn from another car and putting it in my car. I was happy with that I really didn't want a loaner car I wanted my car. I am sure you understand that. Anyway I am going to get my car inspected there next weekend. He still is going to talk to his boss about comping the cost of the inspection. I think it is the least they can do.

Here are a couple of pictures.
