Good Time in Memphis

Memphis was a blast. It was so good to see everyone (well most everyone cause some of the people couldn't make it) especially all at once. It so rare that we all can get together like that with the bi costal thing going. Heading up to Dodges Chicken and Gas for fried food, smokes, gas and malt liquor. All your vices! One Stop!

Great time and we get to do it again in Oct. Looking forward to that very much. Hope everyone had a safe trip home.

Jeff this link is something that I think you will enjoy.

For those of us who are bound for Memphis it looks like the weather is going to be great if just a little on the toasty side. Nice and sunny.

New Feature on my Blog

OK you may have noticed on the left I have added a "last movie" link. I was putting a link to the movies official website. I changed it to another site where I give a review of that movie. I'll see if I keep up with it, I'll do it for a while and see what comes of it.

On a side note the spell check on blogspot did not recognize the word blog. Don't you think that is a little silly?

Peace out and enjoy the reviews.

Good reading

If you are a reader of fantasy novels, I have a recommendation. I have probably mentioned it in another post but I wanted to say it again. The Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin is fantastic. The first in the series is A Game of Thrones. I guess the main plot through the entire series so far goes something like this. Kings, Queens and Knights with their murderous, betraying and vengeful ways. There are some supernatural aspects to the plots and subplots. Plenty of twists and turns as well. Martin is not afraid to kill off main characters if he feels it helps the plots along.

I found myself caring for the people in the story. Yelling (in my head) when they did something stupid, cheering when they finally got it right. To me that is a sign of a good story teller. If you start caring about what happens to a fictional person, the author has done his/her job well. There are three books in the series so far, with the fourth scheduled to come out in July. It has been a while since I read them so I am starting at the beginning again so I will be caught up when the new one finally comes out.

If you like this type of stuff and I know some of you out there do I highly recommended this series. Go to Amazon, Borders or Barnes and Noble and pick the first one up and give it a try. Better yet check out a local used book store (Scott the one down the street from you rules and should have it). I'll leave you with a link to the author's website.

Peace out.
