SERENITY NOW!

Alright here is a short list of good Seinfeld stuff.
This is in no order just a random picking.

Everything was found on imdb.com.

[discussing George's ATM code]
George Costanza: I am not giving you my code.
Cosmo Kramer: I'll bet I can guess it. Oh, alright. Yeah. Uh, let's see. Um, well, we can throw out birthdays immediately. That's too obvious. And no numbers for you, you're a word man. Alright, let's go deeper. Uh, what kind of man are you? Well, you're weak, spineless, a man of temptations, but what tempts you? You're a portly fellow. A bit long in the waste band. So what's your pleasure? Is it the salty snacks you crave? No no no no no, yours... is a sweet tooth. Oh you may stray, but you'll always return to your dark master - the cocoa bean. No, and only the purest syrup nectar can satisfy you! you'd guzzle it by the gallon! Ovaltine! Hershey's!
George Costanza: [running out the door] Shut up!

[phone rings and George's answering machine comes on while he's home]
George Costanza: Believe it or not, George isn't at home. Please leave a message at the beep. I must be out or I'd pick up the phone. Where could I be? Believe it or not, I'm not home.
[beep]

Jerry: I had a dream last night that a hamburger was eating me.

George Costanza: George is gettin' upset!

[two noisy people behind him in cinema]
Girlfriend: George maybe we should move away.
George Costanza: That won't be necessary.
[Stands up and turns around to address the noise-makers]
George Costanza: Shut your traps and stop kicking the seats. Where trying to watch the movie. And if I have to tell you again I'm gonna take you outside and show you what is like. Do you understand me? Now shut your mouths or else I'll shut them for you and if you think I'm kidding, just try me. Try me. Because I would LOVE IT.
[Applause]

Elaine: You know, just admitting that another man is attractive doesn't necessarily make you a homosexual.
George Costanza: Doesn't help.

Jerry: So, Putty, you're selling cars now. No more being a grease monkey.
David Putty: I don't much care for that term.
Jerry: Oh.
David Putty: Ever see a monkey put together an engine?
Jerry: No... I saw one who used sign language.
David Putty: ...Yeah... I saw that... Cocoa.
Jerry: Yeah, Cocoa.
David Putty: Yeah, Cocoa... That chimp's all right. High five.
Puddy is wearing a bright orange jacket with an 8 ball on it]
Elaine: What's this? What happened to your fur?
David Puddy: I saw Jerry wearing his. He looked like a bit of a dandy. Check this out. 8 ball. You got a question, you ask the 8 ball.
Elaine: So you're going to wear this all the time?
David Puddy: All signs point to yes.

George is eating all the shrimp]
Riley: Hey George, the ocean called, they're running out of shrimp.
George Costanza: Yeah, well, the jerk store called, they're running out of you.
Riley: What's the difference? You're their all-time best seller.
George Costanza: Yeah well... I had sex with your wife.
Board member: His wife is in a coma.

George Costanza: Do women know about shrinkage?
Elaine: What, you mean like laundry?
Jerry: No. Like when you're in a pool... afterwards...
Elaine: It shrinks?
Jerry: Like a frigthened turtle.
Elaine: Why does it shrink?
George Costanza: It just does.
Elaine: I don't know how you guys walk around with those things.

Welcome back true believers! Excelsior!

Here is a list of my favorite comic book/superhero movies.

1) X-2: This just kicked ass all over the place. It blew the first one out of the water.

2) Spiderman: I loved this. This was almost my number one mostly because Spidey was always and still is my fav character.

3) X-Men: Could this movie have been cast any better? I think not.

4) Batman: About the only good thing to Come out of this series. Second one was OK the rest GARBAGE!

5)Daredevil: Ben Afleck aside (he really wasn't that bad), this movie was cool. I liked Colin Farrell's Bullseye and Michael Clark Duncan as the Kingpin. Elektra was cool as well. The only scene that was just god awful was the silly sparring match in the playground. Stupid.

6) Hellboy: This was just fun fun fun.

7)Superman 2: KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!!!

8)The Hulk: This movie was good and I do not care what any of you say. It was good. Damn you all! All I heard about this was how much people hated it (except you Scott). It was well done.

9) Blade & Blade 2: Another one that was fun fun fun. Very cool special effects and all that.

10) Unbreakable: Yeah it isn't based on a comic but it is a superhero movie and has a comic book feel to it. I hated this the first time I saw it. On a repeated viewing (in LA at Scott's) I saw it for what it was, Damn good!

That's all for now True Believers

Peace out.

Man in suit Man in suit!

up from the depths

Godzilla! Godzilla!

Friday night I made my way into Harvard Sq. and headed over to The Brattle. They were playing the original uncut unfucked with version of Godzilla. The one that came out in 1954 in Japan. Black and White and subtitled. The American version which came here in 1955 was cut up, stuff taken out, stuff added in and dubbed. (Dubbed badly at that). The American version also took out the anti H-bomb message and some of the black humour that the Japanese version had. I learned all this from the Brattle web site. I had never seen the first Godzilla movie (Japanese or American) until now. I have seen plenty of others, just noe the first.

It was cool to see the very first appearance ever of Godzilla. It was also cool that I got to see it on the big screen. Obviously the special effects were not the best but I guess they were pretty damn good for mid 1950's. Just a guy in a suit stomping the crap out of a miniature Tokyo. (this is how all Godzilla movies should be made) Blasting away with his radiation fire and basically fucking shit up. Damn cool.

There was one scene when all the Japanese see Godzilla for the first time. There was three or four of them, camera in hand, snapping pictures and then running away screaming. I found this quite amusing. (stereotype my ass!)

On a side note there was a guy in the row behind me who laughed at the most random and unfunny things. They would show a newspaper on the screen and then the subtitle would tell the audience what it said. For example "17 ships lost so far". This guy was cracking up. (unless, maybe, he could read Japanese and there was some inside joke in the newspaper print).

Over all it was a good way to spend a Friday night. I even got a kick ass paring spot right by the Border Cafe on Church St. Which as most of you are aware parking in Harvard Sq. is a pain in the ass. Unless of course your Jason who seams to have magical parking abilities.

Peace out

M.B.T.A (Mass Bomb Tech Association?)

I am not sure how I feel about this. MBTA allowed to stop and search any bag at any random point of any random person. These are scary times we live in but where do we draw the line? I know this could very well prevent a tragedy but it also raises some questions. How random is random? I think it is going to cause a lot of trouble. People are going to react badly to this. Especially when they get searched. I know most people may say it is a necessary evil, I just want to know where does it end?

Peace out.

This Tuesday the next installment of Stephen King's Dark Tower series comes out. It is the sixth in a series of seven books. The first book was first published in 1982 I believe in a limited edition hard cover. It wasn't until 1987 or 1988 that it came out in trade paper back. That is when I got my first taste of The Gunslinger. The second book came out a couple of years after that. It had a cliff hanger for an ending. Then no third book for like 4 years or something like that. Man was I pissed off. All his fans were pissed off. It took him forever to get the third book out. People were sending him angry letters. One fan even sent a picture of a Teddy Bear with a gun held to it's soft plush head. A note was attached. "We want the next Gunslinger book or the bear gets it" (it wasn't me). The third book finally came out and all was right in the world. I think there was an even longer delay between the third and fourth but no cliff hanger so it wasn't so bad. Then the fifth book which wasn't so long ago. Now one more day till the sixth book.

It is a deviation from Kings usual stuff but I think it is def some of his best stuff. These books are getting better and better with each volume. They are starting to encompass ALL of his work. There are references to this series in almost all of his other books. There are references to his other work in this Series. Characters from other novels pop up here and there. I love it. I can't wait for tomorrow. The final book comes out in Sept I think. It is all finished. At least I will not need to wait three years or more to find out what happened to The Gunslinger and his Ka-tet. (Ka is fate or destiny, Ka-tet is a group of people bound together by the same fate or destiny)

Peace out and see you at the bookstore.
